FDA Warning – Online Pet Pharmacies

by Mary Haight on October 6, 2010

I don’t know anyone who isn’t making an effort to curb expenses and pets’ pharmaceutical needs are no exception. I happened to have missed this FDA video warning on online drugstores for pets (thanks David S Greene at Pet Connection). As with people meds online, if the pharmacy will give you medication without a perscription, move on. This is not a place you want to entrust with the life of your pet. There are some good tips in this video on how to spot a likely bad bet, and how to recognize a good place to order.

There are serious problems with buying human drugs online, so why should it stop with pet medications?

As always, the best advice is "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is!" IMO for every legitimate internet business out there there are dozens looking to scam you and take your money. Listen to your instincts when you have second thoughts about buying something from a company you don't know, they are seldom wrong.
