Hey hey hey! Lake Shore Animal Shelter, Chicago’s oldest No-Kill shelter, teamed up with Cubs pitcher Randy Wells at the Captain Morgan Club at Wrigley Field for the new dog days of summer event “Pooches on the Patio” party for people and their dogs.

The Chicago Trolley Company lent their fabulous greener travel trollies to the festivities and the parade of dogs began. The now Lake Shore Adoption Trolley (for a few hours anyway!) drove the streets of Chicago from home base at 729 W Randolph, Urban Outsitters, North to the ballpark.

Randy Wells and Captain Morgan were available for pictures with all attending dogs. Captain Morgan donated a giant check, $2500, to Lake Shore in honor of Randy Wells! Now that’s one of the best ways to honor someone I’ve ever heard of! Hope it gets more people to think that way:)

A $10 donation at the event got the donor a special Pooches Prize Pack of toys and treats, and an entry into a contest to see your dog’s name up in lights–that would be the Wrigley Field Marquee:) Check for pictures on this over at Steve Dale’s blog on Chicago Now – he’s always  has the best photos!
