Tashi thought he had won the doggie lottery when I opened the bag; he’s never had anything like this before. Free Range Dog Chews new line of chews from grass-fed Argentinian cattle have no hormones, antibiotics, animal by-products steroids or preservatives added to the cattle or the dog chews. Third party US laboratory testing results are available to prove these claims.
Tashi had a good sniff and because these chews had the give he and his teeth understood, he gave it a go and decided this was quite a tasty treat! In fact, I couldn’t get it away from him and he was quite content to just keep working away exercising his teeth and gums. The package wisely carries the cautionary note that you really must supervise your dog at all times when you give them any chews. And unlike airline pre-flight cautionary notes, I paid attention! Which turned out to be a good thing.
Even as I was sitting next to Tashi, he managed to get through chewing down 3/4 of this corkscrew shape, with half of it down his esophagus. It’s a problem when dogs don’t have their canines, and can’t rip, shred, and bite off pieces at a time. Since I was holding the end curl of it, I just retracted it, gently but swiftly to no ill effect.
Any chew or treat your dog tries to swallow whole needs to be changed out for a different shape. This is the thing with dogs–you just don’t know how they will treat a new chew. The good news is that Free Range Dog Chews have many other shapes like braided steer sticks, which I’d like to try, odor-free bully sticks and beef trachea, among others. You can take a look at their products and where to find them at Amazon under “grass fed angus beef steer sticks”.
Have you tried this product yet, and if so, did you like it?

From the look of the image you’ve posted Mary, these Argentinian chews look very similar to Merrick’s Flossies. They are curly as well, and come in different sizes. I doubt they are “free range” though.
Zeus got through one of the “Jumbo’s” in probably 20 minutes or so. Good teeth & gum action.
I always supervise my dogs when ever they eat anything, even their regular food, which isn’t really very regular I guess.
Glad you were watching over Tashi.
