		<description>Yes, there was more than $750K given from an Australian aide group and some of it was applied for rabies, but getting a full accounting for the cash is another story. What appears to be true was that this effort simply stopped, and that&#039;s where the WSPA, the rabies experts, and Girardi&#039;s work got the process going again.  
 
And about Girardi, like many people in the thick of trying to solve complex problems, she remarkably doesn&#039;t think she&#039;s getting enough done. But talk about how one person can effect major and sustainable change...

		<description>There are an estimated 400,000 dogs in Bali of which about 32% have been innoculated for rabies. According to the WHO, 70% of a population has to be innoculated to halt the progress of a disease. They&#039;re almost half way there. 
 
The next biggest challenge that I see is growing their spay/neuter program. The American pet industry alone will top out over $45 million for 2009; just one tenth of that and a few more people like Janice Girardi, much of the current dog issues in Bali could be solved. </description>
