Most of you probably don’t know many pet shop shoppers. Then again, there are always those who think they are “rescuing” the puppies in the pet shop when they buy them. All that really does is create another order to the puppy factory for that kind of dog. Perpetuating this cruelty does not lead to the warm and fuzzy feeling you get from rescuing an animal.
For those of you who haven’t stopped shopping in pet shops, this video is a gift to you with Season’s Greetings. Please take it in the spirit it was given, and think more than twice about buying from a pet shop.
Unless the shop is adopting from a verifiable local shelter (and do call and check the address of the cooperating shelter–Petland and others are reputed to lie to customers) it is more than likely to be supplied by a puppy mill. Regardless of what they tell you. Remember the reputation for lying noted above. Same with internet buying. Pass this along to friends, would you?
