Pet Benefits – Cause Marketing – Advertising Tails

More and more companies and philanthropic organizations are finding huge benefits from tapping into Cause Marketing. Finding an organization or cause that needs help with financial input and publicity has never been easier nor have those benefits been larger for those who plug into Cause Marketing.

Over the years Health Causes such as Breast Cancer, AIDS and Environmental Campaigns ranging from saving baby seals to cleaning up toxic waste have galvanized the business community into spending their ad dollars jointly promoting their products and promoting a cause resulting in a changed ad scene. Just last week Rebok was one of several athletic shoe companies that handed out shoes, arm bands, visors, lapel pins and banners to NFL teams to promote Breast Cancer awareness. All around the US. football stadiums were pink, with players running, jumping and getting tackled wearing pink shoes and gloves. The fans noticed, the commentators chatted it up resulting in a win win for cause and advertiser.

It’s not just human concerns and causes that ad dollars and support are flowing to but these resources are more and more flowing to a cause near and dear to our hearts here on Dancing Dog Blog. Pets are becoming recipients of a huge business push in Cause Marketing.

The NYT talked recently about Canine Assistants, based in Alpharetta, Ga., who have since 1991 provided and trained service dogs to those with disabilities. The giant corporation Del Monte Foods who make Milk-Bones have recently launched a campaign empathizing -  its good to give Milk-Bones to your dog and it’s good to give donations to groups like Canine Assistants.

A successful Cause Marketing campaign incorporates more then just traditional media these days. Social Media to build the brand and spread the word is tailored made for this kind of ad campaign. Twitter along with Facebook are perfect tools to let large interested groups know the good work you are supporting. Cause Marketing is an updated version of the grocer putting a shine on every apple in the store.
