Holiday Budget Savvy Gift Ideas

Bisket Basket

Holidays are coming up fast. Don’t even ask me where this year went.  Before you know it, weekends are going to be filled with dinners and cocktail parties and your calendar will be overflowing with commitments. If you don’t want to be pulling your hair out at the last minute, or breaking the budget, it’s time to look around for hostess, friend, family, and colleague gift ideas for Thanksgiving and all the festive parties with friends and business associates that follow.

What to get for everyone… I’m usually buying wine for the household and treats for the furry family members. Often I get so busy (read: procrastinate) that I end up flying around town just before the party, desperately seeking something…anything…interesting.  Sadly, I usually end up settling for the wine, swearing next year will be different.  Well, this year it looks like I’ll finally break the cycle.

Bisket Baskets will change that last minute gift panic scenario I seem so attached to!  There are so many budget savvy choices on their website, I spent more than half an hour looking around. They do baskets for every occasion, but the great news was the pairing of gifts for people and pets, dogs or cats, in one basket. And the price range will suit most everyone (baskets start at $24.99 to over $100 for the more lavish styles). Custom baskets are available if you feel the need, and there are even less expensive gifts, just minus the baskets.

There are themes around cookies, candies, fruit, wine, tea and coffee, birthday, baby things, get well soon, and anything else you can dream up. The owners, a trio of sisters, say the products used are only the best, many having been mentioned in the hallowed pages of Bon Appétit, Gourmet (may it rest in peace), Chocolatier, and others.  Bisket Baskets have a five-star top service shopping rating at Yahoo, and corporations like Microsoft, Harpo, NBC, FOX, CBS, MGM, Paramount, MTV are customers. Gail, Melody, and Sherry have been creating great gifts for all occasions for ten years, and it’s obvious they love what they do.

I’m excited…it’s going to feel great to go from house to house with the almost Zen-like calm that comes from being prepared, giving something with a little more thought to it this year:)

What are you thinking of doing?
