Guinness’s World’s Oldest Dog Dies

by Mary Haight on September 1, 2009

Chanel, the wire-haired Dachshund whose 21 years was celebrated May 21 with a Certificate from Guinness World Records, died Friday at her home and with her family, the Shaughnessy’s in Port Jefferson Station, New York.  Good for her and her family that she could die in her own home. I think it’s an amazing feat that the Shaughnessy’s kept Chanel so well that she would live so long.

Here’s a video of her last birthday party…she got to live it up at a doggie spa in Manhatten:)
