Dogs Know Best: It’s All About “Now”

John Woestendiek, the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and writer/editor of Ohmidog!, has written a review on “Guardians of Being” by Patrick McDonnell. If you haven’t seen his work, McDonnell is the creator of MUTTS, a comic strip in over 700 papers.

McDonnell read Eckhart Tolle’s “Power of Now” and sought Tolle’s collaboration, putting his words to McDonnell’s canine characters to relate the message of living in the “now.” The simple approach is the most elegant, they say. Most dog people know the Zen of now is fully understood and practiced by all beings canine–except perhaps when the early warning bells go off inside their little heads when it’s nearly, but not quite, dinner time!
