Well PetSmart is holding a Valentine’s event bound to be the hit of the weeken of love. In their own words “PetSmart® and Hill’s® are proud sponsors of the PetSmart Charities “Second Chance for Love Adoption Weekend”. The three-day adoption event takes place Friday, February 13, thru Sunday, February 15, 2009, in all U.S. PetSmart® stores. The goal is to find homes for more than 13,500 pets in need. Contact the store in your area for participation times of local agencies. Sure sounds like a worthy event that I hope everyone will look into…

The great people at Down East Dog news have a wonderful article on Canine Critical Care The mere mention of a life-threatening emergency involving our dog is enough to make us cringe and change the subject. But if the aphorism is true, that life is what happens when we’re busy making other plans, then it stands to reason that some of us might someday land in the middle of a canine medical crisis.
