Weekend Dog – Post – Weekends are for Pets

The weekend was designed specifically for your dog. The weekend is when all your focus, all your energy and all your diligence is directed toward your dog. If you have more than one dog it becomes tons more fun than jelly beans. If you have a pet that is not a dog then 99% of it is for your pet. Why the difference in the amount of time? We all know, and with no dishing of pets who are not dogs. Dogs always require 1% more then other pets. Don’t yell at me, it’s genetic.. :)

You need never run out of interesting things to do with your dog, but if you are at a loss and tearing your hair out for the next new thing, never fear ’cause my weekend list is here.

1. “Pet Projects: The Animal Knits Bible” is my first recommendation. The book is a collection of 33 projects to knit for your beloved pets. Skills level runs from beginner to expert.

2. Read to your dog. That’s right I said it. My second recommendation is, You Are a Dog: Life Through the Eyes of Man’s Best Friend “The canine talks about his relationships with everyone in the family, plus neighbors, newspaper and mail deliverers, other animals, and household appliances such as the vacuum.” This is a funny book your dog will love, read it to your dog tonight.

3. Another book to read your dog is Dog Heaven. The book is a wildly successful child’s book that uses softness and humor when talking about what heaven is like for dogs. Note this is not a religious view, it’s for kids and works wonderfully as a book to read to your dog or dogs.
