Dog/Cat Fur Banned Across European Union

Here’s some Happy New Year news out of Europe: Today a total ban on dog and cat fur begins.  And as we have seen here in the States, this comes just as fur is making a comeback in Europe.

Scottish Member of the European Parliament Struan Stevenson campaigned for 9 years to get this legislation passed.  Millions of dogs and cats will be saved with the closing of this market.  Stevenson cautioned “…The onus is now on retailers and others to ensure that such demand doesn’t encourage unscrupulous fur dealers to search for ways to break the law.”
